The program – AIChE's promising, new approach to creating a pipeline of well-prepared future chemical engineering students – has received the required minimal funding and has been successfully launched.
That means – effective immediately – every student enrolled in a chemical engineering course is eligible for sponsored membership in AIChE.
AIChE gratefully acknowledges four generous sponsors – DuPont, BP, Rohm & Haas and the AIChE Foundation. Thanks to their support, you can now encourage every student enrolled in a chemical engineering course to sign up as a member of AIChE – and benefit from the invaluable online resources in Knovel and internship possibilities. The students who sign up will have their dues sponsored for the duration of their enrollment. They will simply have to complete a brief, online sign-up form.
I encourage you to share this good news with your colleagues at your pre-semester meeting, as we have already informed the Student Chapter Advisors. This is a wonderful opportunity for your students and a model program your faculty can take pride in.
Sponsored Membership – Everyone Benefits
For your students, sponsored membership means being accepted into a professional community in their chosen field. As members, they'll gain access to "members' only" sources of technical information and find out about job opportunities and internships through their chapter's corporate sponsor. They can share problems and solutions through Podcasts, Webcasts and Blogs written by and for students. And they will receive a suite of tools for life-long career management.
