USC success at Fifth International Symposium on Ultrafine Grained Materials

March 19, 2008 — As part of the Fifth International Symposium on Ultrafine Grained Materials, awards were presented for the best student/post-doc posters.  Four awards were on offer and two USC posters were competing.  We managed to receive the Gold (first place) award and one of the three Silver (second place) awards.  The photo shows (from left) the Gold award winner USC graduate student Byungmin Ahn (who works with Prof. Nutt) and the three Silver awardees of USC graduate student Roberto Figueiredo (who works with Prof. Langdon), Troy Topping (from UC Davis) and Irina Topic (from University of Erlangen, Germany).
