Center for Photonic Technology
The Center for Photonic Technology is a cross-disciplinary
research unit established to address key research and
educational issues in lightwave technology. The purpose of the
Center is to focus research, development and educational
efforts on critical systems, devices and materials issues of
compound semiconductor-based photonic technology. It involves
highly synergistic and collaborative work between faculty and
students from the departments of Materials Science and
Engineering, Electrical Enginering, Physics and others. The CPT
operates a state-of-the-art III-V semiconductor processing and
fabrication facility covering over 6000 sq. ft.
