Biography

Professor Huang's research has been focusing on engineering-informed machine learning and data analytics for smart manufacturing, with special emphasis on Machine Learning for Additive Manufacturing (ML4AM) and Integrated Nanomanufacturing and Nanoinformatics (INN). He is a Fellow of IISE and ASME. He received NSF CAREER award and numerous best paper awards. He was the holder of Gordon S. Marshall Early Career Chair in Engineering at USC from 2012 to 2016. He holds five US patents on 3D printing accuracy control. He has founded the international workshop on Accuracy Control for Additive Manufacturing (FACAM) since 2016. He is Department Editor for IISE Transactions and Associate Editor for ASME Transactions, Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering. He also served an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering and for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters.
